Conclusion:
I went to McDonald’s on December 20th around noon. The waste of the food industry is very much focused on packaging and image. I think the company can avoid producing too much waste by allowing reusable items for the customers; this will not only reduce the amount to produce the goods, but also the amount of waste that the company is responsible for. McDonalds can replace disposable items such as the paper cups with washable cups that is provided in the restaurant. If there is an issue with drive through; the company can create a new promo where the people can buy the reusable cups, and when the people come back with the cup, they can pay less for the drink. Whereas those that forget need to buy the cup which will be more expensive. The containers can also be changed into reusable ones for the inside and make recyclable materials for to go. Items such as the cardboard materials can be composted or recycled as well as the several water bottles that are used everyday. The plastic salad containers can be changed into cardboard so that it decomposes. Furthermore the people can even have store credits for those that use a more environmental approach to eating there. Where people can bring their own cups, or sell those cups and have the kids design the cups. Containers can be plates that does not necessarily need to be made of breakable material. There are still so many changes that can be done to reduce the exploitation of the earth for packaging usage only. Most of the trash the come out of McDonalds are often just packaging, if that is reduced the environment, the people, and the company can be saved, from pollution and money.
